I just finished my Open Water Diver certification through Channel Islands Scuba with Larry. What a great experience! CIS is a great place, all the people there are friendly and helpful. I felt that the course was laid out nicely - spanned over enough time for us to become comfortable with our skills and plenty of water time to put what we learned in the classroom to use. I cannot recommend CIS any less than 5 stars across the board. I completed my Open Water Certification in August with the Owner Mike, who is an awesome Instructor. With each classroom and pool session, beach, and boat dives building on one another, it was challenging but doable, and lots of fun! I can't wait to take another course at CIS!
Just finished the open water course with Mike, great instructor - very patient, knowledgeable and experienced while making it as fun as possible! Great shop with a classroom, rentals and all the equipment you could ever need to get started all in one place. This class had people of all ages and skill levels and while there is a lot to learn and experience, the combination of class time, with pool, beach and boat dives builds the skills and confidence needed to truly be a diver not just certified. I got open water certified here last month at CIS. Mike and the other staff members were very patient and helpful throughout the entire process. They clearly communicated everything that was required and when anyone struggled, they went out of their way to make sure they would succeed. I highly recommend CIS for anyone who is new or experience to Scuba diving!
I got two specialty certifications here! I also had my first beach dive with the specialties and it was awesome! I was nervous about the beach dives because I have a fear of waves but taking the waves, tides and current specialty helped calm those fears. The instructions were clear and the equipment was easy to use. They always have so many different opportunities happening, which means there something for everyone!! :D
I just recently received my open water certification from CIS and I can't say enough how great the whole team is at the shop. Everyone was very friendly and encouraging the whole time. I had to miss one beach and boat dive and Mike was very accomodating and let me reschedule to another weekend. Thank you CIS for the great dives and look forward to getting more certification with them!
