My experience with cataract surgery in both eyes was outstanding. The staff was professional and exuded confidence and experience. The nurses and anesthesiologist were highly reassuring and sensitive to my fears and provided me with the comfort that I needed. And Dr. Shoemaker’s highly trained skills resulted in a perfect outcome for me. I could not ask for more!

Very smooth system as you moved from one test to another with little wait time in between. All staff were friendly and helpful especially since I have a bad hip and trouble moving around. Dr. Shoemakermade me feel at ease and explained what he expected the outcome to be after the procedure. I have been to 2 other places to see about having my cataracts removed but did not feel comfortable with them. I knew after meeting the first person, Diane, that I was in the right place.
Absolutely no bed side manner He interviews the potential and if he is pleased he will state that he is going to be your doctor of choice Very pompous and arrogant Doesn’t follow up has his peons see you if there is a problemLoves himself too much The office staff are stiff loud and not at all personable They treat him like a god He also is short tempered I think he needs to retire
Because of an existing vision problem, I had three opinions before having cataract surgery. Dr Shoemaker was my third opinion and the best. He was most knowledgeable about my current eye condition, and I felt most confident with him doing the surgery. The results were excellent.
Absolutely first class. Dr. Shoemaker and the entire surgery staff made me feel very comfortable. I felt very at ease and am extremely satisfied with the results. I will recommend Center for Sight anytime.
I'm very satisfied with my surgery however, I think he needs a refresher course in talking with patients. He snapped at me during the brief 3 minutes that I actually got to speak with him because I blinked. My f/u appt with the optometrist is where I learned more abt the procedure and he helped me to decide on mono-vision for the second eye. Dr Shoemaker never said a word to me during my first cataract surgery but at least told me he was there before performing the second.
Dr. Shoemaker and his staff provided me with a life-changing experience. Every point of contact for my cataract surgery felt personal and professional. Although this practice sees a large volume of patients, everyone is treated with the utmost care. I can't express how amazing it is to see the world through different eyes.
