The Cave of the Mounds is one of the most significant caves in the Midwest of the United States. The cave was believed to have formed nearly a million years ago, while the limestone encrustations around it are said to date back over 488 million years to the Ordovician Period. This is the second time I've been here lots of fun both times! Love the gem panning you get quite a bit for the price and the kids loved finding their own stuff! :)

We went during the trick or treating and we were not disappointed... very educational... my 5 year old nephew even loved it!
What a gem! Great cave to visit and tour. Was an easy walk - many stairs and only one real tight squeeze. A real natural beauty!
