I'm a pizza fanatic and the best pizza I've found in metro LA is at Casa Bianca. It's a friendly, family owned and operated restaurant where the service is excellent and with a genuine smile! Be warned, there is a long wait on weekends, usually an hour and they don't accept checks or credit cards! Plus, the place is closed Sunday and Monday and for a couple of weeks each summer when the fam goes on vacation! But the food, especially the pizza, is out of this world! It's New York style but Sicilian style and whole wheat crust... read more
Pizza to die for – Discovered Casa Bianca from there review in the L.A. Times. The Times rated them as the best pizza joint in L.A. Incredible thin crust pizza. They make their own Italian sausage amd it's the best. The garlic bread is buttery with just enough garlic. Haven't had the pasta because the pizza so darn good. It's a family run place and it really shows in how they care for it. This is the only place I eat pizza.
Great pizza, bad location – I agree with those who rate this as the best traditional pizza in LA, and a great bargain for what you get. Cons: the street parking is TERRIBLE, service can be slow (frequently 45-60 min waits on weekends). If you're obsessed with "California style" pizza with fresh ingredients (as opposed to high quality canned mushrooms etc.), this may not be the place for you, but that's okay, more room for the rest of us!
Great Pizza – Absolutely the best pizza in L.A. at the best value. The ambience is nostalgic; a combination of Hollywood and 60's styles. A must have food find
Pizza in L.A. – PIzza perfection requires not only perfect preparation, but also talent. Casa Biance has both. I am now 24, and I've been going there since I was 14. The first time I tried it, I thought it was the best. And now, despite all of the gourmet pizzas with all sorts of ridiculous toppings, I still feel it is the best. The only thing wrong with Casa Bianca is that it gets so crowded. Why? Because the pizza is so good. Another reason I used to go is because the local Eagle Rock cuties are hired as servers, but that ... read more
jennifer – My family has eaten here for twenty years. We all love the food. This pizza is the best if you love thin crust. I do not like sausage on my pizza except when I'm here. The sausage is really special. The antipasta salad is the best you will ever find also. I have been to hundreds of pizza places. I don't care about cost, service or atmosphere. I only require exceptional pizza and this one meets my expectations.
I'll pile on... – That this place is considered among the best places in town is an absolute joke. The use of canned mushrooms is absolutely inexcusable, and the wait only raises expectations that much higher before they're dropped, like a used Kleenex. The teenage staff and outdated interior at least give it the feel of a college town pizza joint (which I guess it is), but if you're looking for a decent pizza, Albano's, Palermo, and Hard Times are all head and shoulders above this travesty. Hell, Pizza Hut is better...
Not worth the wait – Usually if a small neighborhood place like this has a long wa,it, it's worth it, but at Casa Bianca the food doesn't live up to expectations. The pizza was pretty good, but not amazing. When they tell you you'll wait 30 mins, it can be more like an hour, so be prepared. Overall, it was loud, the appetizers were from a frozen package and the service was kind of bad. Don't bother waiting.
What's up? – I just don't understand by the lines outside I would think that the restaurant would be great. But as pointed out by the editor - canned toppings just don't cut it for me. In the area - which I just moved into are Italianos and a bit further Palermo Italian Restaurant. I think that people go to Casa Bianca out of habit.
