I was delighted to meet with Dr. Kelly Carson for the first time today and realized in the initial few minutes that she is not only highly qualified and educated but that she knew on a personal level what I have been experiencing with gastro issues by relating her own specific problems. After leaving previous gastro, so pleased to find a doctor who listens and explains and follows up. Great options prescribed. Not somebody who just wants to prescribe more and more medicine!!
Dr. Carson has been personable, thorough, unrushed, and exhibited genuine concern for my outcomes. I’ve been completely comfortable with her doing 2 procedures for/on me and look forward to being under her care for years to come.
Dr. Carson was the only physician who met with me virtually before it became the standard during covid. I had significant gallbladder problems and I was scared about what I was going to do if I needed surgery in the midst of the covid crisis. She went above and beyond what she needed to do.
…not a great listener and not compassionate at all. She is extremely intelligent, well read, up-to-date, skilled and an expert. This is all VERY important and may be enough for some patients. As a nurse, I wanted more. I wanted a little empathy and personality and connection. And I wanted less ego, judgment, and more kindness. I ended up changing doctors.
I highly recommend Dr Carson. During the initial office visit, she took time to get to know me, my medical history and issues as well as explained various medications and procedures. She also did an endoscopy and colonoscopy. Again, great job by her and her team. I had quite a few polyps that we hard to find and remove and she got them. I am both an older adult and a retired healthcare professional. I saw Dr Carson two times in the past two years. My colonoscopy was entirely painless ( and that has not always been the case for me with other providers). She discovered a very small polyp that I feel could have easily been missed if the doctor was not as observant or if they rushed the exam. The other was a procedure I was uneasy about.
