My loan was sold to this company. After learning of the sale, I discovered that carrington would not let me make additional principal payments on my loan until AFTER the monthly due date. In other words, wait until after the due date (first of the month) and then make a payment in whatever amount over the total due you wish to pay. I prefer to pay my bills on time. Just got a notice from Carrington that we are late, did not show a late fee but our payment went up $300.00 I am taking that as the late payment, never heard of such an atrocious amount!!! Our normal payment is 1166.00 the payment do now 1476.00 pretty large late fee I would say, is this even legal?
