After 18 month wait for assessment for ASC, Hounslow CAMHS outsourced online assessment to a private company. This was a good service, however they do not differentiate between nuances of ASC (because apparently this is not in the DSM-5 manual), which therefore means appropriate educational settings do not exist in the area. I have a daughter who appears to have Autism and/ADHD I filled in a whole bunch of forms and so did my daughters previous school and sent them all off. Weeks later I get a they contact me and say some wernt answered so I send a copy of them . Weeks later they say they will close my case if not returned So I send them again by recorded delivery . They are great and my son received great support to this day and I think they are excellent.
Terrible experience I’ve been to camhs around twice and both times have been an equally disturbing and very upsetting experience. Most of the sessions are uncomfortable and not confidential at all, I don’t think I’ve received any advice at all on how to handle my issues. Instead of advice they just straight up told my parents about my struggles when it was meant to be confidential, in therapy confidentiality should only be broken when there is an immediate life threatening issue to which I didn’t have and yet they still info... read more
