The positives here are the prices are pretty good for Union Square, and also they serve beer. Mmmmmmm. Beer.
We ate here twice during our stay in San Francisco. Food and service both good, friendly staff, great value.
I came here at 3 am. The waitress was really nice. The food looked really homemade and it wasnt bad. They even let us stayed for 5 hours!
This place was just a block away from our hotel, so it was the perfect choice to feed our hungry tummies after a really long night of exploring San Francisco. Service was quick and efficient, and the food was good. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict which is one of my favorites to order for breakfast, and Cafe Mason did not disappoint. Food is good here, it's full of local tourists which is a good sign. The service was prompt and the staff were friendly and nice. Recommend it.
Having dined here several times over past years it was with great delight to find on a recent visit that the standard was right up there... greeted & seated very promptly by very friendly staff despite a very busy day, order taken without delay and the food was cooked & presented to perfection.... a superb omelette with delicious home cooked style Italian potatoes.
My family just arrived from the east coast so we were looking for some good food in a casual, reasonably priced priced restaurant close to our hotel. Cafe Mason fit the bill perfectly. The food was very tasty (we both has the tortellini and my 8 yr old had a penne in tomato sauce). and it was quiet since we ate at 5PM. Everyone enjoyed the food for the price.
We go to San Francisco regularly, and this is always the first restaurant we seek out either for breakfast or an early lunch. All of their crepes are nicely turned out, thin and delicate. The Swedish pancakes remind of those my sainted Swedish grandmother made for us on Saturday mornings when we were growing up in Chicago. I also recommend their eggs florentine.
We went to Cafe Mason 4 times for breakfast during our week-long stay in SF. Breakfast menu is quite large and the food is very good. Also a nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed the wait staff and were treated well on each visit.
