This is fine dining masquerading as a cafe, and doing quite a good job of it. will literally shout with joy over the aroma of Cafe Mason's. Prove me wrong.
Excellent Breakfast!!! Very creative with the options. If you like new ideas for breakfast (ie; croissant french toast, swedish pancake) would highly recommend. Omelets were also very good. My husband and I are just visiting San Francisco & ate here a couple of times & was excellent every time! Our waitress, Hana, was so cute and helpful with any questions we had. This place has amazing food with reasonable prices. I've eaten here countless times and have loved everything I've ordered. The gnocci al fungi is my favorite. The service is usually good. It's the best 24 hour (ever so slightly upscale) diner in the area. The music is almost always good.
We eat here almost every trip to SF for shopping. The food is consistently good. The service are friendly and professional..
I love that this place is only a couple steps away from Hotel Nikko! My girlfriend and I came here one late night for some grub to take back to our hotel room. We were directed to the bar by the hostess where we were quickly greeted by a server. Immediately after ordering, we were given waters while we waited for our food.
Here's what I think after having hanged out in downtown for years: very clean, neat at work, responsible morning/lunch cooks. They really DO care that you like their dish! breakfast is the best Overall, I'd go here for breakfast all the time if I lived in the area.
Food is great, I like the atmosphere more than anything...It is a great place on the way to work to come in be welcomed and enjoy the morning.. Highly recomend the place
My husband and I ate breakfast there our first morning in San Francisco. We chose it because it was convenient to our hotel. We returned every morning during our trip because it was some of the best food we have ever eaten. Everything we had was a hit. The food was so fresh and wonderful. It was like going home to Mom's house, but way better! We are planning a return trip to San Francisco and I promise that Cafe Mason will be on the itinerary.
Cafe Mason has a great breakfast selection PLUS they squeeze oranges to make fresh orange juice right there behind the counter. Service is great and the price is acceptable for San Francisco. They do offer lunch and dinner, but I have not tried them for these meals.
