There are definitely better (and I mean way better) bbq places in Asheville. They are in a good location between breweries on South Slope but the food isn't great and there's really nothing special to it, I advise hitting a food truck at Catawba, burial, or green man. If you want good bbq go to Moe's bbq, Bonfire (on patton), 12 bones (during spring-fall), Luellas, or little Pigs. The drink options here are slender at best and I really just advise you save your money.

Intro to this place consisted of asking if they had their hot dogs available. Bartender returned "yes, one for 10$ 2 for 14$- you know what you can do with them! I'll stick to my weber!

Great location and venue. The old hall is awesome and they preserved it well. Loved the "hog of the day" board too. Food was excellent along with the service!

We were a party of 7....we were there when the doors opened Sunday morning, and everyone raved about our food. Most of us had the pulled pork plate...none of us complained about anything. Will definitely visit here again when in Asheville.

My second visit to Buxton Hall BBQ. 2nd diappointing trip. "Smoked" chicken was more like baked. Skin was wet and tough. Chicken was feable on meat and mildly smoked. Grits and gravy had been sitting under a lamp for an hour and we got here when it opened and there was a line and we still got in the first sitting. Greens were still a redeemer, but only fractionally. The BBQ last time was mediocre. I've given this place 2 times and both were severely underwhelming. People who think this is 5 star BBQ need to branch out. I'm n... read more

The smoked and fried chicken with white Bbq sauce was excellent. But if you are making your bones on your whole pig, it'd better be mind blowing. Theirs was dry and bland. Vinegar sauce tasted of vinegar only very underwhelming.
