The sides were excellent the collard greens we're the best I've ever had the barbecue was good but it's only whole hog chopped barbecue the fried smoked chicken may have take the show for us.
Incredible BBQ sandwich with some sweet potato casserole and a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Yum Yum Yum great job!
Service is casually slow but very friendly and the food is awesome!
Whenever I'm in Greenville I always make a point to head up to Asheville for a day and try different restaurants. I saw this place on Instagram from the AVL Today page and thought it looked worthy of a visit from the pictures alone. I couldn't have been farther from disappointed! I got the chicken sandwhich and sweet potato casserole from the lunch menu. I appreciated that the menu is small, it pays off in how well each dish is executed. I plan on moving to Asheville soon and this could become a regular haunt for sure!
Awesome place. Great food and drink selection in a cool, rustic and fitting atmosphere. I had a BBQ plate with the collard greens. Both were amazing. Elaborate sauce selection as well.
Our third time eating here. Positives first: the setting is exceptional. Layout and architecture are wonderful. Staff are pleasant. Collard greens are flavored well. BBQ itself is fine. Tastes like mushy liver or mushy haggis. To get any of it down, we needed a LOT more rice. We hardly touched it. Again though, that’s on us. Even so, our meal ... read more
Carfish was very good, as were the bog & pasta salad. The highlight however was the pimento cheese appetizer. Overall very impressed with the space but think portion sizes were a little small for prices charged. Service was exceptional.
Easily one of my most favorite restaurants in the country. It's relatively inexpensive given the level of food and service, the desserts are handmade gems, the bar creates interesting handcrafted cocktails, the BBQ is delicious, and the fried chicken sandwich is pretty damn amazing.
Awesome barbeque. Downtown pricing. Good atmosphere
