First time here. Was recommended as a place to eat, we are in from Louisville. What a great place, food, drink selection and atmosphere.
RecommendedAwesome green beans, ribs, Macaroni and cheese. Did have a bit of a wait.
We ate there on a Friday night for our daughter's graduation dinner! We loved it! The barbecue was great. The Alabama white sauce was amazing. Our food came out quick. We were surprised because it was a Friday night and the restaurant was packed. That's always a plus when you don't have to wait forever for your food! RecommendedWent with my brother several months ago for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the food!! Had the rib sandwich and I thought it was quite yummy!!
I never got to taste the food, that’s the problem. They could get three Michelin stars for the food but I’m sure they would deem Buxton Hall unworthy to even visit. After not taking reservations,” just come on down” which I guess they think is real hip, we arrived at 8:15 and they told us the wait would be an hour and fifteen minutes and they’d text us when ready. Delicious! Have the whole hog sandwich with Aunt Hilda’s potato salad on the side, followed by a piece of strawberry lemonade pie. Wash it all down with a blood orange lager. So good!
Fantastic bbq. Seriously. BUT it would be a 5 star review but I’ve never in my life seen a portion of pimento cheese SO SMALL. The app is built for 1 at best. We couldn’t even see the cheese because it was BURIED in pickled veg (which I love) but it it’s not a picked veg platter, it’s a pimento cheese app! This isn’t built for sharing. Great experience oversll but the world needs more cheese ya’ll!
The best black eyed peas I've ever tasted. Had the shredded pork and tried all the sauces. I would eat here all the time if I could.
This place has been on my list FOREVER and it was so worth the wait! The ambiance is incredible, including keeping as much of the old roller skate rink in tact as possible and keeping that character. I sat at the bar and Brandon took excellent care of, super friendly and hospitable. I ordered the Cheerwine slushie...damn, it was so good!
