About this business

This Pan-Asian nightspot centers around a 10½-foot gilded Buddha. Buddakan features glistening decor accented by wasabi-colored booths, two full bars, plenty of sofas for lounging, along with a 20-person community table where you can share food and conversation with friends. Chef Scott Swiderski has created a whirlwind tour of the Pacific Rim in menu form, from Garlic Grilled Shrimp with Long Life Noodle to Wok Smoked Salmon to Szechuan-crusted Tuna with wasabi sour cream.

The Chinese New Year celebration was delightful! The dancers, in their gorgeous dragon costumes were wonderful. We not only enjoyed our delicious food, but joined the sea of smiling faces as, to our surprise, the Dragons visited each table a few times! The drummers kept the rhythm going for about an hour. Wonderful afternoon!

First time at Buddakan. Been on my list of places to try when in Philadelphia. I was not disappointed. Great food and service in a nice area of the city within short walking distance of the historic sites. Definitely will go back.

The food and service was very good, but nothing extraordinary for a restaurant of this caliber. There was nothing I hated about it or even disliked a little. It just didn't deliver the Wow punch. However, the dessert was incredible. One of the best I have ever had! Mocha Carmel bombe is a must. Skip dinner. Have dessert!
