About this business

This establishment holds the oldest liquor license in the state, and it has been in operation for more than a century. Serving since 1893, this national historic landmark has seen countless wild west icons having a meal here, including the legendary Buffalo Bill Cody. Be aware that the dining room walls are flanked by animal trophy heads, which some diners find as uncomfortably distracting. The menu offers some eye-opening fare such as rattlesnake, yak and fried alligator tail. If you prefer the traditional cuisine, tenderlo... read more

If you go to Denver you must eat here once. I have been to the establishment twice and the food and service both times are excellent. The price also ranges from very affordable to very elegant so there really no excuse not to dine here. One can feel the Old West ambience as soon as you walk through the door. And you can almost imagine yourself a gun slinger down a harsh whiskey at the bar on the second floor. Go there, young man. You won't regret it.

One of the best, if not the best meal I've had in my life. I can't say I've ever got to try rattle snake, Rocky Mountain oysters, elk, bison, and quail all in one sitting. We went with our family and everything came out cooked to perfection. Also, you simply can't beat the historic surroundings and atmosphere of the place. If you are ever in Denver and are looking for a place to eat, this is a must go.
