Our family had a wonderful dining experience at Basswood Bar & Kitchen in Napa Valley. Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and prepared to perfection. We started with the fresh oysters, followed by the house-made mozzarella, both of which were exceptional. The Fritto Misto (crispy seafood platter) was perfectly crisp, the roasted cauliflower was delicious, and the wood-fired pizzas were outstanding. Our meal was totally underwhelming. The Parmesan truffle fries were very good. Nothing else was above mediocre. The tuna tartare salad was served on a bed of baby spinach and chard…. Not the delicate, fresh lettuces I would expect. The burger was bland and boring. We had to ask for tomatoes, then asked for avocado to make it a bit more interesting (full disclosure, the burger comes with cambozola but we substituted cheddar).
