Made my online request in the morning and got a call for an appointment at 3:30 pm same day with Martyn Baddeley. He was extremely thorough and attentive to my concerns. Sent me for various tests. Thank you
The GP’s decide how to run the surgery and it clearly doesn’t work. That is unless they don’t want you to get an appointment, then it’s a complete success. They don’t have to run it this way. I have discussed it with a GP from another area and he told me they tried the same system and it just doesn’t work. If I need a GP now I have to go private. Or know that I am going to be sick six months in advance. Ps I have found most of the staff to be lovely. It’s not their fault.
Surgery has gone through many organisational changes over the last couple of years and has merged with the Devon Road South Darenth practice to become the River Darent Medical Group. Though I've found it impossible to see an actual GP and have to rely on using online booking, I have been seen by friendly and professional medical staff and referrals have been quick when needing further treatment. it’s a fortress with an army of systems, receptionists, econsult, etc all designed to stop you seeing a doctor . some of the receptionists (not all) are aggressive and obviously hate either the job or the patients. i am 75 and IT savvy but the system is daunting and unhelfup. such a shame as this surgery was fantastic but not any more
