If you want to try some of the best seafood in Charleston then head to this humble joint on Folly Beach. It should be on your plan if you are in and around the area. The place was completely gutted in 2006 and was rebuilt again. The restaurant is famous for its wonderful oysters, seafood platter and shrimps. It takes pride in using the freshest ingredients and the catch of the day is always worth trying out. You can also book private parties at this venue.

Firstly, ice cold beers on tap...great start. Had the AYCE oysters and they were terrific! Slightly salty (in a good way) local clusters by the shovel full...literally. Fried shrimp and whiting done perfectly!

The shrimp was too heavily breaded and greasy, the fish bony, the frogmore stew wasn't good (the potatoes too hard, corn soggy, and way too much seasoning dumped on it). No kid's menu available. Thankfully, we went when it wasn't too busy and service was fast, but we won't be back to spend $50 on food that just wasn't good. We highly recommend Nigel's Good Good....so much better!

People vote with their feet...And there are more footprints up to the front door of Bowens Island than any other establishment in Folly Beach...If you like the little bi-valves you can't beat this place...My wife loved her shrimp and fish dinner, and I got my fatal dose of all you can eat oysters down in the oyster room...After finishing her dinner, my wife started shucking for me...HEAVEN! Until the piano fell on me and I couldn't eat another bite...
The food is amazing. Informal dining. Fast service and the sunsets from the deck is breathtaking. We will go back again.

It was really fun shucking and eating all those oysters. If you like raw, get them lightly steamed-it's almost like eating them raw.

A very unassuming location. Great atmosphere with even greater food. The seafood platter, shrimp, fish, crab cakes were excellent. A light batter which didn't overwhelm the fish. Got to get there early.
