Best Indian food in town! – Bombay Cricket Club is BY FAR the best indian food I have ever had! Every single dish I have tried is to die for. The owner is always behind the bar, mixing up super strong, super good margaritas (mango margaritas are their specialty), and the service is great; always super friendly and efficient. It gets quite crowded, but for good reason. I've never had a problem getting a reservation. My parents live in San Francisco, and every time they come to Portland they want to eat here, sometimes they as... read more
Hot Stuff – For those of us who really like it hot, this restaurant delivers! It's not just 'burn your mouth' hot, the flavors come together with the spices to make for a delicious meal. Their meats are tender and tasty and the location and atmosphere are welcoming.
Very disappointing – The food is good, but not THAT good. I could have tolerated the cramped space, being rushed, being jostled - but the attitude of the hostess was appalling - extremely rude, very unhelpful. This restaurant absolutely does not deserve its good reputation.
Not cricket! – Want to enjoy a smashing game of cricket on the telly whilst enjoying a good Indian meal? Well, this wouldnt be the place. The food was pretty good, although the dear price of entrees together with the fact everything comes at an extra charge made for the most expensive Indian meal I can remember (exclusive of travel costs). And thats not the sound of balls hitting bats you hear. Its your knees banging into the persons at the next table in what has to be the most crowded dining experience I can remember. But a... read more
Not all soup nazis are bad – I had been told by friends that Bombay Cricket Club was a Soup Nazi type establishment. It qualifies in this category by the rule that your party can only order three different entrees, not matter how many people. The food is really good, but the portions are kind of small, especailly for the price. The cricket atmosphere adds a lot to the experience. The mango drinks are delicious, but the chai tea is not quite what you have at Starbucks. The lamb was actually really tasty, and I hate lamb too. ... read more
A new favorite! – I thought the food was great! A little pricy, but worth it. The coconut chicken curry was "heavenly" as my boyfriend's mom put it. The garlic naan and plain naan was a hit with everyone. My favorite was the shrimp kabob dish...yum yum yum. I can't wait to go back again soon....oh yes, don't forget to try the signature Mangoritas...but be careful, they don't skimp on the alcohol. A great restaurant!
The Best in Town – I could not recommend this restaurant enough. The food is amazing you won't have any leftovers. The service is fantastic. Be sure to make a reservation and you will be greeted and seated promptly. The owner Karim is very sweet and even brought me out a piece of mango cake with a candle on my birthday. The mangoritas are fantastic but don't have more than 2 or you'll need someone to carry you out. I highly recommend the chicken tikka masala and some garlic naan.
NOT RECOMMENDED – It seems unless you aren't a regular customer you won't get proper service!! The service and food was not worth the money we spent. I would suggest trying other Indian rest. in Beaverton/Hillsboro (swagat, curry leaf...) which serve better Indian food with "reasonable" service.
A tasty Ruby Murray.... – I've lived all around the world and have found the Bombay to be up there with the best Indian restaurants I've eaten in. The staff are friendly and owner, Kareem is a true gentleman. The food is never disapointing. Make sure you book though, it gets very busy. Try the garlic naan along with a chicken masala washed down with a bottle of crisp flying horse.
