I leased a 2016 BMW xdrive40e last February. I explained to the salesman in no uncertain terms that I live pretty far out in the boonies, and he knew well the circumstances in which I would be driving the car. The X5 eDrive is supposed to get 55 mpg. Hahahahahahah. NOT UNLESS YOU ARE A SOCCER DAD WITH A 10 minute commute to work every day and lots of stop signs along your route. I took my car for service at BMW of Riverside in California. The scratched my car's interior and exterior. The manager at the service department told me I would have to pay for half of the repairs because the car was pre-owned when purchased. I made a complaint to BMW of North America, their answer was that they had e-mailed the service manager and that I would have to deal with him on my own.
Purchased the car and one of the big factors of owning was a possible life saving feature called their SOS button. My wife has a medical condition and drives far to work every day. It always comforted us to know this button was available in case of an emergency. This July the button stopped working and was told that it was due to our 2012 335i having 2G and they are moving to 4G technology. On 3/30/2014, I was driving my 2007 BMW 328i (SULEV)from my home to my company when my engine abruptly shut down at the speed of 40. Fortunately, I was close enough to the entrance ramp of a plaza that I was able to coast safely off the expressway and into the parking lot. When I attempted to restart the car, the engine could not start. It was emergency and I had to tow my car to a garage nearby. BMW USA and BMW Sterling I brought my car in multiple times to fix a problem related to an oil leakage while in warranty and they could never figure out the problem. They just kept adding oil at each visit and I would have to bring the car right back a week or two later for the same oil light problem. Then, once the car was out of warranty they decided to send more information to BMW usa. They said it is an internal oil leak issue and wanted me to pay full price for the fix. Hi, i bought a 2011 328i bmw from someone who purchased platinum warranty for it and that expires June 30, 2017. I got all the warranty purchase papers from the original owner and all they state is that Platinum warranty on the car expires June 30, 2017. I took my car to local dealership on Jun 30, 2016 - BMW rejected oil change payment for $120 stating that my warranty for that expired June 28, 2016.
