After numerous attempts to sort this out... the administration and nurses have been issues. My 17 year old was threatened with the cops being called on her, when she asked the nurses to help her older brother. The nurses were around the nurses station laughing and ignoring moaning patients. The nurse Amy Newman followed my daughter and threatened to call me but never did. She then escorted my daughter out of the hospital, not allowing her access to her phone or her brother. RecommendedI went in for a hip replacement and the care and kindness was sooo refreshing!!! All of the nurses and staff were wonderful,caring and Courteous.I would recommend that if you need good care then this is the place to be.Dr. Valadie was an awesome Dr. I would like to let the staff know that took care of me were very very well appreciated I thank you all very much!!!!!
I came to Blake yesterday, June 29 for a right hip replacement with Doctor Alan Valadie as my surgeon. From the time I arrived at Blake at 5:30 am, I was treated like a queen. Starting with the receptionist that took all my info to the pre op nurse, Connie. All the nurses in the operating room were absolutely awesome as well as the anesthesiologists. My father in law has currently been in the I U two weeks. We started out in Covid ICU and then we moved to regular ICU. My parents retired in Bradenton just three weeks ago so this was not the rest and relaxation we had in mind. However we feel like god sends us where we need to be. The ICU team has taken amazing care of not only my father-in-law but us from home. They have been amazing reporting back to us and keeping us informed of his care and needs. My husband was just released from the Cardiac ICU for valve replacement. The care and concern for his health was outstanding. It was a difficult decision to determine a hospital for this very intense medical issue only living here for a few years. We chose Blake as did our cardiac surgeon. Could not be more pleased with the outcome. The only negative would be an improvement in their discharge operations--maybe a little more communication between professionals. Worst hospital ever. They give charge nurses patients so they can save money on floor nurses. This creates a dangerous environment where patients are not give the care they need and nurses are overloaded beyond best practices established in medical guidelines. If you value your life, pick a different hospital. They missed my fractures when I fell , an employee laughed at my pain at the ER desk, and the last time I was there it was 7 hours before I had to ask for my test results or I would be leaving without them.
