Housed in an 18th century granary, this elegant, old brick restaurant Bistro Romano has been a Philadelphia dining mainstay since 1988. Located in the historic Society Hill district, it is a favorite of the local media and ranks amongst the area's top restaurants. The Smoked Chicken Ravioli and the Veal Rosini are two of the menu's more popular entrees. On weekends, diners can enjoy cocktails in its piano bar, or for a change of pace, take part in its acclaimed Mystery Theater.

We had a surprise birthday dinner for my hubby along with 16 of our closest family & friends. Everyone was excited to be a part of the Murder Mystery Dinner. The storyline wasn’t too bad, the actor/servers were good and kept the show interesting while serving our meals between scenes. The best part of the whole experience revolved around #JakeysWakey. Now the food; it was, umm, interesting. The 4oz. drinks consisted of fizz-less sodas, weak Irish ☘️ coffees and the libations were extremely watered down. At the end of the nig... read more
Food was fantastic as was the service! Our waitress, Vanessa, couldn't have been sweeter. The maitre d as well was so nice & stopped to wish us a happy anniversary & checked on us throughout the evening. First time here but won't be the last.
Amazing spaghetti & Tiramisu! Enjoyed some squid ink mafalde. Really loved the Chianti 'il Granato' owner's wine
Group of my friends and I try to make our trip at least once a month. Tonight we brought a buddy for his first visit, and they did not disappoint ! Our waitress was very attentive especially with the crowd the restaurant had at the time. The owner (an awesome, down to earth guy) even came by our table, took off his jacket, and made our group the Caesar Salad’s table-side himself ! If he thought we were waiting too long, we were enjoying the drinks and atmosphere too much to notice ! If you are going for the first time, do yo... read more
You have to check this place out. The food and service are amazing!!
The food was excellent and uncommon today, so was the wait staff. An absolute pro. Venessa got a great tip for taking good care of my wife and I on her Birthday. Parking near by was good too. — with Heather Boscaino.
First dined here in the 1990s. Dined again last night 9/24/19 and they are better than ever!!! Food was fantastic! Table-side Caesar salad was epic! Rose petals on our table (owner heard it was our anniversary) was a huge surprise and we walked in with no reservations! In its 32nd year in business, they’re doing it right!!! (Imagine how many Philly restaurants have come and gone in that time!)
My boyfriend and his family attended the dinner theater "The Wake of Jakey O'Toole". The food was delicious and the show was wonderful. It allowed you to eat and a decent pace and not fill up to quickly. The actor were hilarious and the storyline fun. I would definitely come here to eat again and participate in another show. Hands Down best dinner experience
