I closed my account in January. Sold my house in February. Called back in February to confirm my account was closed. The representative assured me that the account was closed and that I had a $0 balance. I receive a delinquent notice at the beginning of March starting my bill is "past due." So I called back. Again the representative told me that my account was closed and that the "past due" notice was a mistake. I received another notice at the end of March, this time stating my service will be disconnected and my account is... read more
My water bill continues to creep up month after month, I call to have my meter re-read and am left a note on my door saying their is evidence of a leak I should call a plumber. So I wait a until the next month's bill to see if it is any different and it is worse. I call a plumber (spend my money to do so) to only be told by the plumber there are ZERO indications of any leaks and it would be almost impossible to have consumed the 13 CCF they said I did. He also stated (in his opinion) there was no way that meter could have be... read more
There is virtually NO customer service at Birmingham Water Works! I have called "customer service" at 205-244-4000 several times. EVERY TIME the same thing happens. I first get a recorded message saying that there are 49 customers waiting ahead of me. I waited patiently. When it got to be "my turn" the line just rang and rang and rang and then disconnected. There seems to be no way to get issues resolved!!!! I am thinking that the only way to get attention is for there to be A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!
BWWB Your customer service is a joke. I get put on hold and theres FORTY-NINE callers in front of me??? WHAT?! Is that for real or is it just another way to avoid providing decent customer service? Its funny because Ive called at least twice and there's still those 49 same people holding. Over a month ago I sold my home. The new owner faxed the transfer to BWWB and had the water service transferred. So BWWB, why am I still receiving bills??? The new owner then spent half a day at your office trying to get this straightened ... read more
Due to the fact that I have been a resident of the Birmingham area for many years, I have plenty of experience with this company. Unfortunately, my experience with them has not been good. Between dealing with outrageous 'cleaning' fees because of the debt (which they will magically reduce if you call them out on it) to being charged for water at previous addresses. Add these type of issues to the ones I've been having for the past couple weeks, and it is pretty easy to find yourself at the end of your rope and forced to writ... read more
