Me and many others including my 87 year old mother, neighbors and friends. All who pay their bills on time, got sent disconnect notices this month. When called they denied not sending a bill for March, when I get a bill I PAY THE BILL IMMEDIATELY, their response then was we sent it out late. I replied late or not if you sent it out it should be here before you send a final notice and disconnect date. NEVER did any if us receive a March bill and got both it and April bill yesterday on 28th combined, with adisconnect date of M... read more

Business response:

We are grateful to have the opportunity to provide service to you and apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, there are a number of reasons that can delay bills from being delivered on time, with certain circumstances outside of the control of Birmingham Water Works (BWW). Please note that BWW consistently bill each customer every month for water service, with the exception of very rare circumstances. May we suggest creating an online account from our website? It's easy, convenient, and will allow you to view your mo... read more

Good luck using the website to start up a service. Whoever programmed this should not have graduated, let alone be paid to develop a website. The instructions for entering an address for service and then for billing are ridiculous.... I mean, how can this be hard? Like Service address: followed by Billing address. Instead. the first field is "location"... isn't this address? Then it requests number and street separately, like an iphone. But if you enter it this way, it gives you an error that number must have at least 10 cha... read more

Birmingham Water Works is disgustingly unreliable and fraudulent. We and our neighbors constantly deal with attempts of overcharging by double and triple amounts. The call center workers are rude and completely useless. We have personally had to deal with over charges twice in the past few months. We have proven no leaks and currently pushing back on the second billing issue because they have not correctly read the meter.

I would like to leave zero stars, but this isn't an option. Birmingham Water Works is the most corrupt and lazy business in our state. I got 4 different water rates for usage in the same month (December 2019), plus two different rates for the sewage. Not only is that ridiculous, but they keep raising rates and the service gets worse each time. Why are customers being forced to pay extra for the water boards poor financial choices, while these fools keep giving themselves raises and going on trips? To add insult to injury, th... read more

BWW is the most inept utility company I have ever encountered. Their customer service reps are rude and unhelpful. We do not trust their billing practices at all. I could give multiple examples of horrible experiences, but I'll stick to the most recent. They recently turned us into a collection agency for a bill that we have PROOF that we paid. We always pay our bills on time, so the notice was a shock. BWW NEVER contacted us to tell us that we were overdue. Our billing statements NEVER showed that we owed them anything - ye... read more

Horrible business practices. They expect you to pay for mis-read meters. They also tell you when you have a leak to just bring in your receipts from repairs to get credits, but when you do that, you're told you may only get about a quarter of the overages back. They will not credit any from the sewer bill, even though they know there was a massive leak that we paid over $9,000 in plumbing bills to repair. Nothing has changed with this horrible organization and they seem to be getting worse. The problem is, we have no other s... read more

Three weeks ago our water was disconnected due to being behind on our bill by 2 months. I go online pay the bill and except responsibility with the fact we were 2 months behind. I pay the bill in full online the day after our water was disconnected. Two days ago I logged on to there website to check our bill. I showed we had a ZERO dollar balance. Yesterday afternoon our water is turned off. My husband calls and is told that since we didn't call them and let them know we paid the bill on there website they cut it off? We wer... read more
