About this business
The entire bar and restaurant is designed in dark, elegant wood with very stylish and comfortable furniture, chairs and booths--even the requisite fireplace--giving it a private club-like feeling. Beautiful multi-hued granite is used for the table tops and the bar, highlighting the overall design. The owner, Brett Anderson, (a lawyer, but we won't hold that against him) has done an excellent job of designing and furnishing the restaurant and has obviously spared no expense. AMAZING food...worth the wait!
Second time here! Can’t wait to go back when we visit Des Moines area again!
Been to the “Steer” a few times. My last visit was apparently a weekday. Because when my wife and I tried to have a quiet dinner in the bar on a Friday we were told “we don’t serve in the bar on Friday and Saturday”. Sorry but not everyone likes to spend their evening in a family dinning room full of screaming kids! So we paid for a drinks and left. Headed to the new Italian Resturant where they serve at the bar. I will say the food is good but, when I’m out for a nice dinner I like the quiet of the bar!
Always a great meal. The place to go for steak. And my husband loves their shrimp.

I am a very picky person when it comes to my steak. I had the N.Y. Strip cooked well done. This was the BEST steak. Cooked to perfection!! Our server was Meagan D. She was FANTASTIC. Highly recommend this place.
I have not had the pleasure of finding an amazing restaurant for many years until last night. I cannot rave enough about how spectacular the food is. I live 2 hours away and will be going back next week!
Absolutely amazing food! Everyone in our party was truly impressed with their meal. Waitstaff was extremely professional. Will definitely be our restaurant of choice when we are in the Des Moines area!
Called for a reservation for 1230pm today, The owner canceled my reservation and made a new one without talking to me about it, Been waiting over a hour for the new reservation, The hostess is very rude older man
