I made an appointment weeks before the scheduled service call. I was given a 4 hour window, noon to 4PM. At 3:45PM a customer disservice representative called and asked if she could reschedule me for another day. I said NO, I had waited all afternoon for the technician. I am giving BGE HOME 0 "ZERO" stars, but my review would not be processed without my leaving a star, SO REMEMBER THIS STAR IS BEING FORCED UPON ME....0 ZERO 0 ZERO STARS. I have had a service contract on my furnace for 30 years. Money was always taken from my BGE monthly bill. Now all of a sudden I am receiving a bill from BGE HOME Products & Services, LLC. DO NOT GET THE BGE Warranty. They do not stand behind their 24 hour, 7 day emergency service. We were without heat as of Saturday, January 12 and was only able to get a technician out today Monday, January 14. We had a brand new system installed just less than five years ago. Calls to speak with a supervisor have gone unfulfilled. This company will also bill you months on end for the warranty contract. This company has trouble servicing replacement ***** HVAC equipment that is still under warranty. Spring 2018 system would not cool. It took a month for a shop foreman to figure out the system only needed freon charge rather than new A coil as proposed by field technician. Now waiting nearly two weeks for company to gather information to replace thermostat - that was not replaced when ***** system installed. Do NOT get the BGE Home Insurance Plan if you get service from them! they WILL NEVER STOP BILLING YOU! I HAVE MADE NUMEROUS CALLS, I HAVE WRITTEN 'CANCEL!!!' Called BGE Home Monday a week ago that we had no heat--it's a week later and still no heat--said they will come tomorrow to put on the new part--shouldn't have to wait a week. Martha
BGE home contract for plumbing is a waste of money. First of all $50 for every single problem you report on same visit and add on extra for equipment. Turns out price to pay would be same as ***************, so whats the use? This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. A total "hit or miss". Supervisors can be rude and condescending. Information provided inaccurate. Wrong billing. It takes several phone calls to resolve issues.
BGE will bill you each month and won't do any routine maintenance such as annual air-conditioning and heating checks unless the customer specifically calls them. The service is essentially asking you to throw your money away when you could be putting the same dollars into the bank or put money aside on your own for future repairs. The website misrepresents the services provided by BGE. They will NEVER contact you to schedule any of these so called annual services.
