Had a hip replacement operation with Ben Spiegelberg in July. First time in hospital ever and was apprehensive but Ben was very informative throughout the process and explained what the procedure would entail and what the recovery would be like. Best advice was not to have a General Anaesthetic and use spinal block with sedation instead. Operation was a great success - never felt a thing and recovery was great. The whole procedure of having my right hip replacement went very smoothly after first seeing Mr Ben Spiegelberg in May this year. He was very clear, concise and coherent in explaining the procedure, which gave me the confidence and reassuring that it was the right thing to do and proceed with the operation. Needing a knee replacement myself, I chose Dr. Ben Spiegelberg to be my surgeon because of his extensive, far beyond normal training in the field of hip and knee replacement surgery. I contacted Ben Spiegelberg because he had previously conducted a partial knee replacement for me, under the NHS. I had been waiting for at least 6 months for an appointment to see an NHS consultant for a hip replacement, but had heard nothing.
