Becco

4.3

About this business

Inspired by his travels across Italy, Joe Bastianich opened Becco with his mom Lidia to much fanfare. The word Becco comes from the Italian verb beccare, meaning "to nibble." A great addition to Broadway's dining alternatives, the lovely restaurant is a popular pit stop for theater-goers. Sample their delectable prix-fixe pasta menu and the kitchen's redefinition of Italian flavors with an impressive wine list and seasonal cocktails.

Have loved it for years ! Consistently the best quality and most interesting pastas. We love to get the unlimited three pasta option with the antipasto. It's like a party for your mouth with all of the assorted flavors and textures. And with the huge $29. wine list, it remains a great pre-Theater option.

Becco is a very busy restaurant so things tend to be on the chaotic side but that's life in a Manhattan celebrity Chefs restaurant. Tables are very close together but the staff does their best to cope under demanding conditions. With that being said the food is fresh, very well prepared and seasoned perfectly. Standouts are the whole Branzino, Frutta Di Mare and All Pastas. Don't expect to have a calm quiet evening because after all it's a Lidia Bastianich restaurant in NYC so just deal with it and enjoy yourself before or a... read more
