Inspired by his travels across Italy, Joe Bastianich opened Becco with his mom Lidia to much fanfare. The word Becco comes from the Italian verb beccare, meaning "to nibble." A great addition to Broadway's dining alternatives, the lovely restaurant is a popular pit stop for theater-goers. Excellent food, ambience, service. The pasta was amazing. Wine was excellent $29 per bottle.
Food was very good and flavorful. Our table was in the bar room, which was very crowded and tight (however it was a Saturday night). You're sitting on top of the people next to you. Service was excellent.
Went tonight after a show, was really looking forward to the food as I've been there before and love Lydia. My husband and I had a reservation and had to wait in a crowded bar on top of other diners (which made me feel terrible and uncomfortable). Then we were seated at a table right at the front entrance. The place was so overbooked that there was no where for customers to go, they were spilling into the dining room and bumping into us and our table.
