A real gem in Carmel, within easy walking distance of local hotels. We visit Carmel about once every 18 months and had not been to Basil previously. We were greeted and seated very promptly by the friendly staff and thereafter service was exemplary. Food was delicious - we both had short ribs with additional sides, everything was truly great! We both had a glass of Hahn merlot to accompany dinner and it was a perfect pairing. I am already looking forward to a re-visit to Basil and would strongly recommend anyone in the area ... read more

Every bite was perfect. Our server Nathaniel was the best and chef Mary knows what’s up. Their pesto is amazing and the scallops were perfect. They had a summer squash and leek soup that was like a bowl of heaven. Thanks
Lunch was excellent, and a very friendly atmosphere, along with the good service. Basil is a must when in Carmel.

Norin Grancell and I were here for Brunch last Sunday. The food is locally sourced, uniquely prepared and presented in this warm and inviting Carmel courtyard. Impeccable service and quality fare made this Sunday Brunch a special event, and we will make Basil Seasonal Dining our first stop when we return to beautiful Carmel by the Sea. Proprietors Yanina and Denis Boaro have created an experience worth repeating.
