Update: I went to Bank Midwest on Saturday. I left feeling pretty frustrated. I actually went to all the banks in the Legends area. I didn't realize it, but the Bank Midwest employee representative I had met with earlier tried to call me after I left. I talked to him on Monday and he did a little research and realized I qualified for the Work Perks account designation. I am so happy Jon went the extra mile for me. I no longer want to change banks. I'm staying with Bank Midwest.
Just got my letter from Bank Midwest telling me of the new fees they are going to charge. I wonder how many customers they are going to loose because of this. My mother and I both have accounts their. Probably not much longer though.
I've been with this bank for 23 years and I just received a letter stating I would be charged $8 per month if I don't maintain an $800 daily balance! Did some research and competitors waive the fee as long as I have a minimum of $300 deposited directly. Guess I will be closing my accounts before October 1st. What a pain it's going to be to update my direct deposits and all the accounts set up to automatically withdraw from my checking account. I'm not happy! We will be closing 9 accounts between my entire family.
Tried to find the phone number for my local bank so that I could determine the very unfriendly Saturday drive thru hours. After twenty minutes of Home page searching plus the 800 number menus and delays (finally I hung up), I googled to get the information that the drive thru and lobby both close at noon on Saturday. Sad!
