Absolutely appalled by the treatment I have received from this bank. After reporting some fraudulent activity on my bank account I recieved a letter in the mail today (Aug 3rd) that my account was no longer active as of Aug 2nd. My paycheck which I desperately needed considering fraudulent funds were not returned or even properly investigated, were automatically deposited (or at least attempted to) on Friday morning(Aug 2nd) rejected by my bank leaving me a single parent with no funds and several outstanding transactions. Holiday weekend and can't use my ATM card for some unknown reason.
commercial division very inflexible and not accommodating if you are looking for a true "partne" in banking.
They used to be great but since they now charge a fee they don't stand out in any way over the others. We have opened truly free checking accounts at another bank and are in the process of closing out these. We also have been with Bank Midwest for years. The smart thing to do would have been to grandfather the accounts in that were started long ago.
Nice aquisition of Peoples and subsequent monthly fee of 8 dollars which didnt exist previously. Furthermore cusyomer service feels the needs to explain all banks do this and its customary practice...far from the truth. Then upon transitioning everything to another account, depleting this one and requesting they close it I was informed i must come into a branch in person (after they closed the nearest one) and that the account will go negative due to their monthly service fee and sent to collections if not paid. We are long time Bank Midwest customers. We are grateful for the personal service and how vigilantly they protect our identity and bank accounts. Just today they caught 3 fraudulent charges. They have caught them in the past also. None have ever gotten by them. Thank you, thank you!!
The slowest bank when it comes to getting a new card, my old bank would get me one the same day. App isn’t letting me log in and I called they couldn’t help me bc I didn’t know when the last deposit was and the EXACT amount. RIDICULOUS. It’s a shared account so I don’t always know, I could look on the app but can’t them to allow it on my phone. � Beyond disappointed with them.
Katrina Chapman at your 6th & Wakarusa branch in Lawrence Kansas did an excellent job! She answered all my questions about my online account, helped with my withdrawals and even offered me coffee or water. Top notch service!
