Horrible Service For BGE. Usually I have good service with BGE. But for this service call the service has been awful. I have had a tree on my electrical line since August 4, 2020 when Tropical Storm Isaias crossed the state of Maryland. I have called four times about the removal of the tree. Horrible customer service, they will not answer the phone, nor install an electric meter nor say why they will not install it, at the very least list what it is that prevents you from completing the job.
Tiffany, a manager with whom I spoke today, is an absolute credit to BGE. My call (which had me on-the-line for 50 minutes) was an initially negative experience; I was calling to cancel my service after 3 years, and I'm a little embarrassed to say that I was a classic case of "put-me-through-to-your-supervisor" today. BGE is a horrible electric service provider. My home is in a small group of homes that consistently have power outages over decades and BGE has nothing to remedy the situation. We can look a few houses up and down the street or behind our house and they are powered while we are in the dark. BGE did install new underground cable on our street last year but had no positive effect on service. We have had 2 prolonged electric service outages since. One started and hour before a storm. They did leave the ground sunken in 4 places... read more
Been a customer of BGE since 2009. Just now 5/2018 received notice to pay 550.00 security deposit because my bill of 208 was late. Are you out of your minds? We own, not rent, have never had service disconnected due to non payment. We travel a lot for work so thus is why bill paid late sometimes. However we've always paid. I think these people rip you off and if there were another company I would switch in a heartbeat.
I was recently sent a letter by BGE regarding a request for a security deposit that I must pay because have been late paying my BGE. I have been a customer of BGE for years, and they have the audacity to create a new rule that if you have been late, you must pay a security deposit that you may or may not get back after a year it ridiculous. I just received a notice from a collections agency for money I supposedly owe BG&E for a final payment for an apartment I moved out of FIVE YEARS AGO. I have the same phone number and email address now, as I did then. A forwarding address was left with the apartment complex. Not once prior to now, have I been contacted about this supposed bill. As a BGE customer I am outraged as to have a payment due on July 1 and was paid on July 1 and then receive a turn off notice on July 8 because it wasn't processed until July 5 is unacceptable. Then after calling and placed on hold for more than 40 mins to be told that yes I see where you made the payment on the due date and the exact time it was made but because it was a Friday and a holiday weekend technically your payment was late.
