I live in a cold area in New England. So far this winter, I have run out of propane TWICE awaiting a delivery from Amerigas. I am getting a $300 fee to get my propane delivered ASAP even though their delivery timing has caused me to run out twice.

Horrible company to work with, call center people are completely clueless, can't tell you anything. Placed our order 15 days ago, still no delivery and they can't say when someone will come. They have no contact with our local branches delivery people. We've been out for 7 days, living on electric heaters and no hot water. Oh and to get them to take the tank away is over $300 ,,, they think,,, not sure,,, only the person that removes it can actually tell you.

Unfortunately, this is about the only option we have in our area. We have had nothing but trouble from the very beginning when they refused to fill our tank because it was too close to the water heater. They tried to blame the contractor, but I informed them that they had filled it for the previous 8 years for previous homeowners. After back and forth, they finally moved our tank and filled it, but they have not filled our tank on several occasions when scheduled. Most recently, we were reportedly scheduled to have our tank ... read more

This company needs to be put out of business. They are by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. I live in a community and there are many people without heat. I tried calling them so many times. On 11/11/20 I spoke with Anthony Bevacqua, 12/1/20 Loretta Bissen, 1/5/21 Liara about overcharging our people, as we had a set price for our development. Each one said the same thing, we will adjust the bills and send out new ones so don't pay until you get the new one. When I was lucky enough to get a person, they all said th... read more

I am an automatic delivery customer. This morning when we woke up, the house was 50 degrees. I had run out of propane over night. I have run out of propane numerous times with Amerigas, inspite of being an automatic delivery customer. I called to get a delivery and was told "it could be up to 14 days before I received a delivery." I told the representative(Asia) this was unacceptable due to outside temperature in the teens and my heat being hot water baseboard. If the temperature in the house gets too low, my pipes for my he... read more

Terrible customer service. I live in Huntsville, AL, and have been a customer for 13 years. Three weeks ago my propane tank registered 50% full. I last filled it February 2020. Sometime last Sunday night (2/7/2021) we ran out of gas. Monday morning the tank gauge read empty. I have a gas furnace and gas range, so no heat and no cooking. I called the local AmeriGas number on Monday, reported I was out of gas, and arranged with the representative for an emergency delivery (within 24 hours) of 200 gallons; she told me there wou... read more

Business response:

Update 2/13/2021 Found a local propane company who delivered same day at current prices (no 'emergency delivery' markup). Driver told us that dozens of people he knew personally had left AmeriGas over the past year due to horrible customer service and price gouging. No my tank is half full going into a weekend of snow and ice storms. Sometimes things do work out for the best.

Absolute worst service and by far the worst company I have had to deal with. There is no accountability or urgency unless of course, you have a propane leak. But good luck trying to get anybody to come back to service anything or need prompt delivery of propane. The sooner I change to another company the better. My recommendation to anybody thinking of signing with Amerigas, don't! Choose a local provider that has a local office.

My elderly parents have been on a monthly scheduled delivery for many years. Amerigas failed to deliver the monthly allotment in January. My parents ran out of gas and were without heat for two days. Amerigas made multiple promises of delivery and failed to follow up. They don't respond to emails or inquires. The account is set up for automatic notification of deliveries and we don't receive notifications. I have no way of knowing if the propane is delivered or not. This lack of communication makes it extremely difficult to ... read more
