Avis Car Rental Company is NOT GOOD!!!! STAY AWAY!!! THEY NEED TO BE SHUTDOWN. GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!! The one one specifically on 901 16th street in Sacramento, CA left my husband stranded today, after we have rented two cars for two months back to back. But, that wasn't the first incidence with AVIS. The first incident was that if you reserve a car online at their website, don't make a mistake, because Avis won't change your reservation. Avis is a rip off. 0 stars. I was renting from avis all last year with any problems. Once I made a review this year about an bad experience I had with an online booking which cost me to be late for an conference out of state due to no vehicle being available at my pickup time. Avis has been harassing me extremely. So they send me two letters in the mail this month (AUGUST) telling me I owe them 102.87 for damages from my rental in December and another 89.00 for damages done to my rental and January. I booked a 2 day rental using the prepaid option with Avis online. The total estimated cost came to $196.58. I said I would pick it up at 13:00 on Friday and return it at 13:00 on Sunday. My flight arrived early and I asked Avis in Memphis if the car was ready, they said it was so I picked it up at 12:00 noon. I returned the vehicle on time at 13:00 on Sunday. When I saw the final bill, I was automatically charged an extra $75.07 (nearly 40% more than the original cost of the rental) for picking up the car ONE HOUR early whe... read more

We rented a vehicle for 6 days while on vacation at the end our vacation we refueled the vehicle completely before returning the vehicle as agreed upon. We get home to find out we're being charged for not refueling the vehicle so we called and they said they didn't charge us $140 fee and that our travel agency did which we knew wasn't the case so we continued to find out what the charge was and were told we didn't completely fill the vehicle.
