no high pressure sales pitch on products – One of the highest priorities when relocating to a new area (I moved here from NY over a year ago) is to find a great hair salon and colorist/stylist. After many misses I was finally rewarded by discovering Avante Salon in Avondale. The staff is patient, respectful knowledgeable and they are always willing to hear your personal concerns. Nuisance – I'm sorry but I have to disagree with some of these reviews. I gave the salon the benefit of the doubt after reading some bad reviews and have to agree I wouldn't go back. I wasn't having a bad day, I'm not difficult to please and like I said I gave it the benefit of the doubt. The staff did offer me a beverage and gave me a consultation, but the niceness ended there. A Place to Get Away and RELAX – Immediately when I walked in I was greeted and offered a beverage. The Aveda Comforting Tea, as they call it, was so good that I had to buy some. Walking in I just expected to go straight to get shampooed; however, it was sooo much more than that. Clean, Professional, Considerate – Don't believe everything you see on Citysearch!! Women can be wicked and witchy and write a negative review whether it's true or not. This salon is extremely professional!! The staff give great consultations, using pictures and swatches for color. Aveda in avondale, love the brick, their cilantro vinegrette dressing is to die for. and Biscotti's, the Fox has the best breakfasts ever. The shopping in Avondale is nice a bit expensive. Love the Casbah, their hookas are great.
NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – As I walked into the salon they practicly attacked me, and put some tea in my face and told me it was part of the experience. Then the receptionist told me my hair stylist was running late, before I knew it I was waiting there for thirty minutes with no hairstylist insight. Learn to delegate – I was in the salon receiving another service, trying to decide if this was a place I could get my hair services also. The owner of the salon was working on a client. If I was that client I would never return. Natasha stepped away from her client at least 12 times to take care of other things in the salon. She just jumped in and corrected everyone all the time then discussed the issues with her client. She did not say anything positive to or about her employees. RUN AWAY!!!! – I didn't find the staff friendly. Actually, I take that back - they were very friendly to each other. They acted like I was interrupting them. They didn't sweep the hair from the person before me and there was hair in the chair that I had to wipe off myself. I explained in detail how I wanted it cut. She cut too much and thinned my hair which I specifically said I didn't want. The best salon expereince EVER!! – I was greeted warmly by the staff. I was offered refreshements while I waited. The stylist took a lot of time to counsel with me about my hair. It was great. I felt confident I would get what I wanted and I did. My color never looked better! I was treated to a neck and shoulder rub while I was there. At the shampoo area they put a hot towel on my head and did an awesome hand rub with lotion. I asked why I was getting such special treatment and they said they do it for everyone!!
