Don't do it. I would never recommend Avalon to anyone. Before we moved in we filled out the move in checklist noting all of the damages. When we moved out they are charging us for these damages even though we have proof, and provided proof! They took our deposit, we paid a cleaning fee and they still tried to charge for the stove being "dirty". They are robbing and scamming people. Just don't do it. Don't move in any Avalon communities. They are very rude people to deal with.

I'm not one to leave reviews - good or bad. This will be the second review I have ever written towards a company. Living at one of their locations in Southern California was a dream come true! The neighbors were friendly, minded their business and hardly made any ruckus. I put in a maintenance request a couple months ago because my fridge was power cycling. When a fridge does this it means the compressor is going out and either the compressor or the entire fridge will need to be replaced. Maintenance came out, but they only checked the GFCI outlet as I had mentioned the power cycling fridge was making that trip. They claimed the outlet was fine and it was tripping because I had a coffee maker and a toaster plugged into it. They didn't address the fridge at all. They pretty much ignored that ... read more

This company sent me a letter claim that I owe them application fees for an application that was denied with a retaining fee and due to the application denied we were refunded the retaining fee but not the application fee yet they are just now over one year later abut a application fee but when I tried to reach out they will not respond.

Howard K I would not recommend this community to live in. Built-in 2017 and is still having cockroach infestation in all lower units and ants. The water is not potable, and we had to resort to bottled water service. They are double billing the water as hot supplied to the unit, the water heater is housed in the unit and we already pay for the water and gas, electricity as part of the utilities. Although I had a positive experience with Avalon Marlborough community during my tenancy, my opinion changed after I moved out. I believe how management treats tenants during move out is a crucial factor in assessing one's renting experience, and unfortunately, Avalon Marlborough did not meet my expectations. During my move-out walkthrough on 3/1/23, I pointed out some staining and dirt marks on the carpets. I will never live and do not recommend that anyone live at an Avalon bay property. We lived at Avalon Towson in Maryland and the entire thing was a horrible experience from move in to move out. Upon moving out, we were wrongfully charged for Conservice utility bills that we ALREADY PAID in our monthly rent statements (Which I have joined the class action lawsuit for, btw).
