Replace a new filter and use for about 6 months. Filter start to produce some weird smell. Informed the local distributor (Malaysia) about it. Waited 6 MONTHS for him to come over to have a look. Yes very bad service and irresponsible. Find all the reason not to replace a new filter for me. Yes after waited for 6 MONTHS. The 5 years filter life span is a total scam, my 1st filter lasted less than 2 years and the 2nd filter (replacement) lasted 6 months only. This is a very bad product. RecommendedA year ago we did a lot of research and chose Austin Air, purchasing one “bedroom machine”. We recently had the Woolsey Fire burn through our neighborhood and our house was severely smoke damaged. All our furniture had to be taken away and the whole house cleaned, floors, walls, ceilings, hvac, etc. the smoke in the air was horrible enough, but after they cleaned our house the chemical smell was just as bad. We love our Austin Air. We have two units, one for the main part of the house and one for the bedroom. It does a great job of flitering smells, pollutants and some gases out of our house. My husband, who had extensive allergies, had noticed better breathing from having these units. The air is never stale smelling.
All of their models work like tractors - heavy, noisy and stinky. The company does nothing to improve customer's satisfaction. There are lots of better models - IQ air, AirDoctor, Allen Air. Just google or go on Amazon and read the reviews.
although initially pricey, their air purifiers are a worthy investment, and far more worth your money and time than cheaper options. I saved up to buy mine every time, and own 3 now (a healthmate, a healthmate +, and a bedroom machine), and I now feel duped for having bought a far inferior type of air filter in the past, especially after all the costly filters I replaced on it so often add up to a rather big expense and I could have had one of these instead. as an MCS sufferer, I am actually hoping they'll consider designing... read more
Amazing air purifiers and customer service is incredible. We have had Austin Air units in our home for almost 10 years now and will continue to for life.
Simply an excellent, excellent product. We need clean indoor air. This brand produces a very high quality product that can go a long way to keeping indoor air clean and safe.
My purifiers have been going strong for 5+ years! I highly recommend one to anyone who suffers from allergies or just wants cleaner air!
