What a nightmare. – Run away!!! Real snake oil salesmen here. Discontinued & overpriced appliances, non-existent (and often unpleasant) customer service. A total nightmare. I would describe my three-month odyssey here, but it would be too boring and unbelievable. Tried to do a good deed for an Austin independent business, but wish I'd just dealt with Sears, Home Depot, etc. BBB rating of "F" says it all.

Worst Customer Service Experience Ever – The people are arrogant, rude and clearly do not value customer service. It's unfortunate that even had to give them a one. This people conduct business very poorly. It's amazing they still exist.

AusTex DOES NOT VALUE CUSTOMERS – I found AusTex with Google. I figured a local business open on Sun might be a good place to find a fridge since mine died on Fri. The sales associate, although not very helpful, was fairly courteous. He showed me one model and stated it would be "in" that week, to be delivered to my home on Fri or Sat. My total was $513.11 for fridge($399), delivery/ installation ($50) and hauling old fridge ($25). I heard nothing about my order over the weekend. On Mon (8 days after purchase), I called to i... read more

Satisfied with the prices.... – After I was researching and shopping around for a Rental House Package for a while I was refered to Aus-Tex Appliance by a friend. They showed me many options that were available for me to do. Either to go with scratch and Dent Dishwasher-Range-Microwave I was looking for or they could find me new in the box deals, and even find me ones that I could go home and research model numbers that they would be able to get me a better price on than a Lowes or a HomeDepot. I ended up going with a new in... read more

Horrible Customer Service – So I call them to ask about the cost of a used washer. "We don't sell used washers." says the lady who answers the phone. I ask how much new ones cost. She says that she'll get the owner for me. He gets on the phone and quotes me a price of $249 for a new washer, and says that he can sell me a used one for less. When I tell him of my earlier conversation, his response is "She doesn't know what she's talking about." Why, I wonder, is she answering the phone? My next mistake was going to their shop.... read more

WORST customer service and WORST response time ZERO STARS – Purchased something and was not given what I asked for. I complained and was not compensated. Full of excuses all the time and still cannot deliver a product properly and could not even remember me when I approached him again later...as if I had never even complained!

To the guy upset about the diagnosis and $40 charge – Why would you call an appliance company to come fix your electrical outlet? Electricians fix outlets, and appliance companies fix appliances. It does not say anywhere on our advertisements that we are certified electricians.

Great Experience – I bought a GE Profile range from Aus-Tex and had a great experience! I researched tthe model I wanted and called the owner of the south store (Bob) with the GE model number I was looking for . He called back within a half hour to let me know they had the model number I wanted at the north store and placed it on hold for the day until I could get there to take a look. I checked it out and found no cosmetic issues with it. I bought it for $500 less than Home Depot's price. Aus-Tex held the range for me for t... read more

These guys are great – I purchased a used washer w/a 3 year service contract with them and they have been awsome. I have had my washer 7 months now and started hearing a stange sound. I called them up and they has someone there the very next day! They fixed it at no cost to me at all!! It is so nice to have a company that sticks by there service agreement, no hidden costs what so ever!! If your in the market I would suggest buying from them!
