DO NOT PURCHASE appliances from this place. It feels like a good situation at first, because the price is good, but once the credit card is run.........good luck. I had to get my bank involved, because I began to wonder if the company was legit or not, because one broken promise after the other. Eventually, they called off the order acting as if they were the victim. Go with AJ Madison or Goedekers if you want a good buying experience.

I just don't get the bad reviews on this place, I just moved to Austin and needed a fridge and washer dryer ASAP, and looked this company up called them with a few models I was interested in. They didn't have the exact models in stock, but had some comparable units. I took a trip down to their showroom and was pretty impressed with the amount of appliance they had. Believe the negative reviews! Don't expect any service after your credit card has been charged. Their installers are inferior, they came to install a dishwasher and a microwave vent hood with no drill. ???? The dishwasher was installed crooked, the microwave/vent hood has still not been installed after 2+ weeks. When we contacted the store to discuss what to do next they basically told us "you're on your own". I prefer to buy from a local business but if they can't back the products they sell or help when there's a problem..... read more

THESE PEOPLE ARE CON-ARTISTS! Buyer Beware: You may think the prices are good, but once your appliance is delivered you're on your own!!! When the compressor went out on the 4-day-old fridge I purchased for a client, the manager could not have acted more uninterested. He basically told me it wasn't his problem and that I needed to contact Frigidaire. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!! – Bought a Samsung refrigerator from Bill at Aus-Tex and the freezer didn't work. After talking with Bill and Samsung, it was supposed to be replaced. Bill then said that he did not have a compareable model to replace it with at the same cost. At the same time I was talking to him about the LG washer/dryer combo that was listed on his website for $999.00. I ordered it from him. He said he would check stock at LG. becareful – Becareful when scheduling an appointment with these people. They say you have a 2 hour window but they dont tell you the time until the day of the appointment. I work downtown austin and was told that I could have an afternoon appointment. The tech left me a message saying that I was the only north call today and that my time slot was 9 - 11 am. I had planned my time off from work. So their 2 hr window would have become an 8hr window. Becarefull when scheduling. they do not put coustomers first but only themselve... read more

Stay Away! You have been warned!!! – My wife and I had a horrible experience with these crooks when purchasing appliances for a new home last year. I wrote a detalied explanation on Yelp if anyone is interested. Many (most) of the favorable reviews here on Citysearch are fake, clearly posted by the owners. The ones that talk about how they are local, family owned, have a huge selection and they'll order for you, etc. etc. All I'm saying is, THIS REVIEW IS NOT FAKE and you are really taking a huge risk dealing with these dish... read more

GREAT JOB AUS-TEX!!! – I was sorry to read some of the reviews on Aus-Tex Appliance, but recently I was in need of a new Dishwasher and a new washer and dryer. I heard about these guys through a friend of mine who said they are a local family business, and that they had great prices, and a huge selection. They sold me a busted dishwasher – I went in to their South Austin location last Sunday and bought a dishwasher with my mother. Today my handyman came to install it and it was leaking water out of the front and side. They gave me a number to call GE to fix it, but there turned out to be no option available to SET UP AN APPOINTMENT, only one to confirm or cancel an existing one. I'm very unhappy with my experience with these folks...
