If I could leave a minus review for the staff and care received I would - After being informed I needed a head MRI due to balance , headaches for over a year the staff at this centre due to their negligence and horrendous patient care made me wait a further 15 weeks - every time I chased I was lied to and informed I’d receive my appointment soon!! I was admitted to Athena on Saturday 16/3/24, as a NHS referral, for surgery to remove a parathyroid gland. From the initial welcome from the receptionist, to the nurses, the ward sister, theatre staff, anaesthetist and surgeon, everyone I spoke to were lovely, appeared very happy and were so, so professional. I came to Athena for a Bilateral Tonsillectomy. From the moment i walked in to the moment i left, the medical team made me feel comfortable and cared for. A lot of the time when you visit hospitals you feel like you are just taking up space and they want to rush you out, however here was the complete opposite. I received a phone call this morning the day after my surgery to check how i am feeling and again, reassured me if i need anything they are just a phone call away. Thank you Athena.
I was referred to the Athena Centre in Nov ’23 for a hearing test, by ENT Northampton General, and was informed that I would require hearing aids. I received a letter stating this. By March ’24 I still had not been given any further appointments. Having called ENT at Northampton General, they too had not received any notification from Athena Centre. I have tried to phone the Centre; every time I called I have been cut off after 9 rings. A waste of my time all round.
