A Caring and Community Minded Practice Dr. James has provided exemplary care, not only for my personal animals, but for many ownerless animals over our 20 year association. The fact is that without his generosity, many dogs would be euthanized for lack of the care that allows them to be rehabilitated and rehomed. Withholding medicine Withholding medicine, these people have NO compassion, no mercy. I have been going to this vet for over a year. My cat has hyperthyroidism and needs her prescription for Methimazole refilled. Aspen Commons Animal Hospital said I have to make an appointment to get the prescription refilled. I will not be going back. I'm sorry Larry S., but I've also had some bad experiences at this clinic. And don't assume someone is a coward just b/c they don't identify - there are many reasons in today's world to protect your identity. I'm glad you and your pets have had good experiences. I agree with the 1st poster, they are way understaffed and overloaded. I've noticed a lot of turn over with Vets as well. Aspen Commons and Dr. James are #1 I have to say that I stumbled onto this site when looking for the Aspen Commons site to reccommend to a friend. I reccommend Aspen Commons and Dr. Jame unreservedly. I was appalled by the distorted and totally off-base comments by "Anonymous" (you sniveling ignorant coward) and Cassandra B. Too much staff incompetence but nice vet I have been going to Aspen C for 20 years with two of my beloved pets. Just because you (the reader) don't agree with something someone wrote doesn't mean it isn't true! However Dr. James would NEVER throw a pet across the room or kill an animal. A long time patron of Dr. James... I have been going to Aspen Commons for over 15 years Yes, you have to wait a bit for your appointment and, yes, they do tend to be understaffed. However, I have a special needs dog and I have received the best care for her by Dr. James. He always explains the procedures, medications, test results, etc and is always open to any questions that I have. As a pet owner YOU are responsible to ask questions if you do not understand! just going through the drill Recently I had my dog pass, and I had been seeing Dr. James for the past 9 years. I ended up taking my dog to Animal East, because I was basically pushed from one vet. tech to another, when I really needed to talk to Dr. James himself. I never did hear from him, in the week of my dog getting very ill, being seen by him twice in one week and then @ the end of the week, her passing. DR. JAMES IS THE BEST While there does seem to be a lot of turn-over in staff at Aspen Commons, I always assumed that there are a lot of interns working there, who move on when their time is up. Bob James is the very best -- the most compassionate veterinarian in my 60-odd years of experience with pets.
