In a very short summary: If I had been due for the firing squad, my experience of Ms Ferrier defending me makes me think she would have offered to load the rifles. Sue Ferrier was hired to represent me at the sentencing hearing and effectively gave up when the judge indicated the sentence would be suspended, meaning that less than even the bare minimum mitigation was put forward. As a qualified lawyer, I can confirm the service I received from this chambers was awful. I was unlawfully charged with a criminal offence. Andrew Davies (my 'defence' barrister) gave me bad advice and then 'forgot' to attend my plea and trial preparation hearing, as he was too busy on another case. Ruth Smith (also of this chambers) who was prosecuting, also failed to turn up to the plea and trial preparation hearing. I retained J A Hughes now rebranded as Quality solicitors, of Barry, who then retained Barrister Andrew Taylor, of Apex Chambers, 32 Park Place, Cardiff to represent me in a matter of Appeal against Criminal Conviction.. I communicated my complaints with Andrew Taylor during 2022 and further discovered points in 2023. Clerks at Chambers (24 November 2022) confirmed they had passed my email, to Andrew Taylor.
