I was referred to Antonios for an inaugural and umbilical hernia repair. I had previously had 2 inaugural repairs on the same side so it was not a straightforward procedure. Antonios recommended a robotic keyhole operation which he explained fully to me. On surgery day he visited me beforehand to answer any questions I had, and to put me at ease. Mr Athanasiou operated on me to repair a lingunial hernia at the Nuffield Hospital. I cannot fault the whole procedure. Mr Athanasious was extremely helpful explaining everything in detail so that I was prepared for the operation and the recovery. Five star treatment and I thoroughly recommend his services.
It was my second visit to the Montifore Hospital and Mr Athanasiou carried out both procedures for different issues. On both occasions the care and support from both the hospital staff and Mr Athanasiou was excellent. I would strongly recommend both the surgeon and the hospital.
Mr Antonios Athanasiou - explained why he recommended urgent removal of my gallbladder. He used MRI & CT scans and explained the images clearly. He explained the process of gallbladder removal and risks involved. He went out of his way to escalate the removal too. He came to see pre and post surgery and his gentle humour and competence completely reassured me. Indeed his recommendation was confirmed during surgery as I had a great deal of inflammation.
