4.5

About this business

A man-made lake provides refuge to wildlife and dozens of tame ducks, providing entertainment for the diners at this long-established San Diego seafood restaurant called the Anthony's Fish Grotto. It also makes the hour-long dinnertime wait much more pleasant for kids and adults alike. Seafood is the best bet here and the daily specials offer great value and delicious preparation. The Clam Chowder, from Anthony's matriarch Mamma Ghio, is renowned, a rich red broth liberally studded with tender clams.

My family of 15 ate there Thurs night the 22nd of Dec. Our waitress and the entire staff were great and every dinner was phenomenal! I didn't know they were closing, this is indeed very sad news! This definitely wasn't my first time there, we've always loved this place! Shame on the city for not renewing their lease, they're greedy! Probably going to build high rises and charge a fortune! They don't care about the people that will loose their lively hoods!

I understand their time is running out but seriously take pride in what you do and be ... read more
