A man-made lake provides refuge to wildlife and dozens of tame ducks, providing entertainment for the diners at this long-established San Diego seafood restaurant called the Anthony's Fish Grotto. It also makes the hour-long dinnertime wait much more pleasant for kids and adults alike. Seafood is the best bet here and the daily specials offer great value and delicious preparation. The Clam Chowder, from Anthony's matriarch Mamma Ghio, is renowned, a rich red broth liberally studded with tender clams.

Anthony's has always been the model of cosistently good quality, fresh, delicious and well served sea food, it remains so. I'm sad to see it go, but I look forward to what the Brigantine encarnation will be, the embarcadero needs updating and although Anthony's won't be there we will see you in La Mesa.

We locals have many memories at this Anthony's like no other location at the Embarcadero. I moved out of state and San Diego three times every single time I have come to visit I have stopped at this location to enjoy Mama Ghios recipes . I have since moved back and was reminded by my 35 yr old niece I had tak... read more
Great place and food is delicious. First time being there and loved it is sad that the place is closing
Just there yesterday for the first time ever n we have lived here for over 30 years!!! Food was great n service too. Got a free postcard picture of us being there as a keepsake. Secret menu was told wasn't a secret. Same as lunch special. Sad to see city do the same as what happened to Old Town. Prepare SD to lose money when Anyhony leaves.
The food was very well seasoned and taste really good! My compliment are to the Chef and the hostess was on point!!
When in San Diego Anthony's is the place to have some great fish and the sights over looking the bay are amazing!
