(I am from Europe) If you put this restaurant in the middle of Italy or somewhere esle in the old continent nobody would specially talk about it! It's not bad that's maybe why in LA it receives outstanding critics. The tall blond hostess at the entrance is beautiful!

What is all the hype about? – After reading so many positive reviews of Angelini Osteria, I enthusiastically decided to check it out for myself. What a disappointment. I ordered the pasta with peas in a cream sauce with salmon. My friend ordered lamb tenders smothered in gravy sitting on a bed of polenta. Is there "Italian comfort food"? – A friend pointed out "What Italian food is not comfort food?" but I still think that Gino Angelini has elevated authentic Italian cuisine here in Los Angeles. Homemade sausage and cannellini beans are perfectly balanced in flavor and texture. Lasagna (w/ fried basil leaves) is incredibly light and delicious.
