I joined American Truck Group's program in March of 2011. So I was a little surprised when I saw an email asking me to rate my experience. Maybe it was because I am a good example as someone who has had a truck for a period of a year or longer. The truck I picked out was a 2007 Volvo 780. American Truck Group has sent all of the current customers an email asking them to rank their experience while getting a truck somewhere, anywhere online.On a scale of one to ten I would give them a ten. Every department that I encountered was professional and knew what they were talking about. And the trucks, well let me tell you about their trucks, I would rate them a ten overall also. One of the most beneficial aspects of the rental with purchase option offered by American Truck Group is the fact that all payments are a 100% tax write-off. Think about how much money you would be able to save, ask your accountant if you have one, but please, do yourself a huge favor and call them for the details. They do have special programs for people with lackluster credit, however they also have a wholesale cash vision which has an inventory, close to 50 made up of Freightliners, Peterbilts, Kenworths, Volvos, etc..

More than anything else that stands out (besides the no credit program) is the selection of trucks that they have to offer. These are not shells of trucks or parts trucks or junkyard trucks, rather they are tested road-worthy rigs that are primed to start hauling, whatever it is that you have a contract for, immediately. What they are not is trucks that as soon as you leave you need to know in advance where the closest show is because it will not even make it home. I read that American truck group will give you a second chance. That is true. but they will also give someone who has had credit problems and those who continue to have credit problems a truck. Most people, like myself, do not change bad habits overnight. This company realizes that and for many they will make more mistakes until they can finally earn enough to be set in a position that will help financially alleviate the results of poor money management. I cannot say anything bad about this company. I also don't walk or drive around with a chip on my shoulder. I put some money down on a Volvo and picked it up one week later. My payments are much better than when I had a truck through the bank. It had a few problems once I hooked it to a trailer so I called the company and they took care of it in their shop. That was 18 months ago and except for routine maintenance, the truck has driven quite well. I want to add that the people that make up this company, maybe a hundred or so... read more

To those people that go online anonymously and take out their personal frustrations and failures on companies are childish and cowardly. All successful small business owners put everything into their business. You have to because it is only up to you. Great companies stay in business because they provide them with what they want. Actually, American Truck Group does such a good job in my opinion (7 years doing business with them) that I start to notice others trying to copy their model of success in places like the Truck Paper. They have not stayed in business for 13 years screwing people over. They gave me a good deal and I have recommended them to everyone that asks me about my truck.
