Donated whole blood about a month ago then got a call asking for platelets a couple weeks later (they knew of my prior donation and had my info) I agreed and scheduled my appointment. I show up to this appointment and check in WITH date of birth, then wait over an hour to be taken back and then I’m told I’m not old enough to donate. So I’ve given over an hour of my time whilst they had all my information just to get a sorry.
I had a 7:15 PM appointment to donate blood. It is now 815 and no such luck still waiting considering leaving. If staffing is short, they should contact donors not to come
Same as previous. One hour wait times. Untrained staff. Done with this site. Never again. So many better locations and organizations. Their blood donor bill of rights: - treat donors with respect. - value your time How they can publicly post that is beyond me. Shame on an organization that relies on public good will to survive.
UPDATE: It has been quite awhile since the original review below, and I'm happy to report things have improved markedly. Maybe it's our distance now from covid and its attendant staffing challenges, don't know, but the operation seems to be running much more smoothly the past year or two. It is no longer such a hassle to get to and through and appointment on schedule; wait times seem to be a thing of the past, at least when I'm there.
