I've been to this location twice and I think it needs a little improvement. Everyone is very friendly and checks up on you during the whole process. My issue is with the wait time and the cleanliness. My appointment time was at 9:40am and the blood collection started at 10:35am (one hour after my appointment time). The health intake only takes 10 minutes and I would expect to be in a chair and starting the collection at least by 10:10am. This location is old and needs some updates. My daughter and I donated whole blood at the Rockville Red Cross Center on July 24th (around 2:10 PM), and we were so fortunate to have Damani and another expert assist us. Damiani is calm, confident, kind, and experienced. Thanks to his peaceful spirit, sincere conversation, and wise skill, the process flew by before we even realized it! It was an enjoyable, uplifting experience for both of us. A huge thank-you to Damani and the entire good-team at the Rockville Center - we highly recommend them!
Donated whole blood about a month ago then got a call asking for platelets a couple weeks later (they knew of my prior donation and had my info) I agreed and scheduled my appointment. I show up to this appointment and check in WITH date of birth, then wait over an hour to be taken back and then I’m told I’m not old enough to donate. So I’ve given over an hour of my time whilst they had all my information just to get a sorry.
