I used this fuel pump on April 6th, 2025 with a USA Visa credit card (Chase Bank) and it worked, no problem. This was a huge relief as a motorcyclist, since the trip to and from Te Anau will cut it close for any tank less than 12 liters. Topping off here allowed for a more enjoyable ride back. For cars if you just fill up in Te Anau you won’t need this pump. It was a cloudy day so I am not sure why previous reviews mention weather impacting the credit card terminal. Only 91 octane and diesel are available.

Lifesaver of a petrol station. Pretty straight forward to use pre-paid machine though it does take a $250 holding deposit. Took credit card no problem.

The machine wouldn't take any of mine or my wife's US Visa debit or credit cards. We were afraid we'd need to ask a stranger to spot us a few bucks to ensure we had enough to get back to Te Anau. When we called the help number we were told the machine doesn't take international cards. That ended up being a lie as the machine worked for the Japanese couple ahead of us. The magic incantation ended being to use the tap feature on a Visa debit card and set a fixed dollar amount to pay instead of the "fill" option.
