I grew up in Southeast Texas, so I remember going to Al-T’s. Food was delicious! However my family and I drove in from South Texas and picked Al-T’s as a meeting point to meet our daughter on Friday. We typically stop by a couple times a year when passing through. This time my daughter ordered stuffed fried shrimp, she said it tasted old and fishy, like it wasn’t fresh. I ordered crawfish etoufee, the rice was gummy and the etoufee sauce was bland and wasn’t many crawfish. My husband had chicken fried steak, it came out and ... read more

My husband had the filet mignon worth crawfish topping and I had the trifecta, a delicious sampling of seafood gumbo, crawfish etuffe and boudain ( awesome dirty rice grilled in a sausage casing. We loved it!

I'll make this short and sweet; definetly smaller portions of food, didn't have an assigned waiter/waitress so service was all over the board, took about 20-25 mins just to give our food order, very nicely remodeled, food was good as usual

This has been a favorite place of ours for some time but, we went tonight for the first time since the new owners took over and remodeled the place. If you have not been in a while, don't go there. The new owners have ruined it. Prices are up and the entrée selections are few and the portions are small. We drove 40 miles to eat there tonight and left before we ordered because we asked the waitress about the portions. I refuse to pay $20 for one piece of catfish and 6 shrimp.

Yum! :-) I'm not from Texas. Our meal was yummy - boudain balls and shrimp etouffee - and the decor - a stretched Alligator skin and mural of a down home cabin - were perfect, too. Great service as well. We will be back, as long as we are in the area.
